Chlorination/Dechlorination (CDC) |

The system is designed to remove contaminants with the use of chlorine and
contact time. It is an effective way of removing iron, hydrogen sulfide,
tannins and other organic matter, turbidity and most Microbiological
contamination. The amount of chlorine injected and the length of retention time
required for specific contaminants varies from well to well.
Water is pumped from the well into your existing pressure tank, then into the
large retention tank after chlorine is injected. The retention tank provides
contact time for the chlorine to mix with the water thereby oxidizing
impurities and killing bacteria. Much of the oxidized contaminants settle to
the bottom of the contact tank and others are filtered out by an Automatic
Carbon/Depth Filter. Remaining chlorine & chlorine compounds are removed by a
carbon filter.
